Hello
Looking for general advice here + wanna share what’s on my mind
I’m a graduate student at a Japanese university I’m doing a masters in environment engineering, I’ll graduate in September.
I recently started looking for a job which is late since the job hunting process in japan goes way a head and currently most companies are recruiting for April 2025.
There’s a couple of reasons for me starting this late : 1)I was trying to get the jlpt N2 which takes time, I’m currently waiting for my N3 results. 2) I’m graduating in September which caused me some confusion since most companies expect students to graduate around March ~April.
I’m over thinking my situation and what should I do. Going back to my country doesn’t seem an option rn.
I did my bachelors in electrical engineering. And I’m passionate about Industrial Automation and factories. I don’t have the experience tho other than few courses I took after graduation. I would love to work in industry here and that what I’m trying to apply for rn but the language requirement stands in my way and I don’t think I can achieve N2 before graduation especially with the research and other school stuff.
What I’m thinking at the moment is to find an English teaching job that can sponsor my visa for sometime and continue my job hunting process and hopefully achieve N2 as fast as I can. I thought about this because I’m currently teaching English as part time job at an English after-school I’m almost a year into this job and it’s not bad compared to other baitos I did. And I have seen some good English teaching job with good pay and benefits.
So can this be a good decision to make?!
And is there’s any other options?!
Or should I even consider looking for a job in another country where the language requirement doesn’t exist?!!
