Would a WHV be worth it in this situation?

Hi all, I’m currently travelling and looking for some advice on whether to apply for the WHV. I’d like to work this snow season in Japan until March, with the aim of improving my skiing abilities(I’m a beginner), and possibly getting a level 1 or 2 instructor cert(read that some resorts hire beginners and train them ground up, is this true?).

I just checked that the visa needs to be applied in the country of citizenship. This would mean having to fly back to Australia to apply for the visa, and would take 1 week minimum, if not more.

Additionally, I’ll have to leave for Korea for a wedding by end March, but plan to be back in Japan by July to resume work/travel until the end of the year.

Given my situation, do you think the WHV would be worth it? Pro is that I’ll be able to apply for resort work this snow season, saving the costs of accomm and ski passes. Con is I’ll have to fork out a flight back to apply for it.

Any advice appreciated, cheers!
