  1. Reviewer may not know that the burgers are a beef/pork mix so they have to be prepared and cooked differently than most westerners expect.

  2. Imho Freshness is one of the best burger chains in town (although a bit expensive, but quality comes at a price). Anyone expecting a rare juicy beef will indeed be disappointed. But the teriyaki chicken burger is very nice…

And they have a big collection of condiments and sauces to try on the fries.

  3. I seem to remember the burgers being decent. Sure, it might be the Boone’s Farm to the author’s Dom Perignon, but it’s still going to get me drunk either way.

  4. I love a good ‘dog in the States, but Japan *does* have some quality sausages. They usually don’t get the bun right, though, unfortunately. And the chili is always just weird, just as the guy said.

  5. > I haven’t yet experienced a great burger in Japan

You won’t find a great burger in a chain store :

Plenty of amazing burger places in Kanto, probably more than a few in Kansai as well. I’m besotted with [this place](http://feelburger.com/top.html) near my house, and until recently [these guys](http://munchs.jp/) only sold out of a mini-van but make amazing burgers.
