Would this income be enough to switch to a Spouse visa?

Currently on a Student (PhD) visa. Applying to switch to a Spouse visa as my child was born and I want more flexibility & fast track to PR.

My only concern is income. Our monthly rent is 24万 (For whatever reason, this is asked on the Spouse visa questionnaire). It’s high considering our family income is 4.2m yen.

3.6m from my wife who is a Seishain, and 0.6m from me, who is a part-time lecturer at a reputable Uni. I was offered FT teaching position but I can’t take it because I can’t work more than 28 hours per week. Spouse visa would allow me to take a 5m/yr position at the same Uni.

The way we got approved for the 24万/mo place was because both of our parents have good jobs. My father at 18m yen / year (overseas) and her dad is a JP government worker at 6m yen / year. But I’ve been paying this out of pocket from the savings I had while working prior to moving to Japan.

We plan on putting down my father as a supporter (20万 of support / month). I still have a lot of anxiety as to whether immigration would think this is convincing?

Thank you
