Hi!
I am going to Japan in March and am solo traveling for the last two weeks of the month.
I could really use some feedback on this rough itinerary:
mar. 19 – arrive at nikko from tokyo
mar. 20 – explore the city
mar. 21 – hike around nikko, go to kegon waterfall, travel to yamagata
mar. 22 – day trip to ginzan onsen
mar. 23 – day trip to yamadera, arrive at sendai
mar. 24 – explore sendai
mar. 25 – go to zao fox village
mar. 26 – day trip to matsushima
mar. 27 – travel to lake tazawa, hike around
mar. 28 – half day at lake tazawa, travel back to tokyo
mar. 29-31 – tokyo
I know this is pretty rough but before I keep planning I want to know if this is a good start?
My to main concerns are whether any of the places are closed off/in a bad season to visit and specificallly if it’s worth it to go to lake tazawa, but honestly would love any input!
I will be going to kyoto, nara and osaka as well and spending time in tokyo before I start my solo travel.
Also, I am not planning to rent a car as I’m uneasy with driving alone in a foreign country (esp. since driving on the left side)
