I’m here on a student visa, my wife is on working holiday visa, both from sep 23 to aug 24. We are planning to go back to UK on 2nd February, coming back to Japan in 1st march. I really can’t figure out if we need a re-entry permit or not. Anyone know something definitive?
My ward office is an hour away and in a different direction to anywhere I usually go so I don’t want to make the trip if I don’t need to…
I used to tutor Japanese people in English in my spare time a long time ago, I usually met people through old 2010 websites or just on the street but I’ve since moved back to America and out of the scene. A friend of mine is really interested in becoming a tutor like I was but the resources I had nearly 15 years ago aren’t really around anymore.
Where should he check to find students if he just wants to practice his Japanese/teach English? He wants to do this as a hobby now but his plans are to move to Japan eventually, as far as I know he’s just doing this as a hobby and doesn’t want to make money off it right now
About the paycheck rate
I wonder about the paycheck in Shizuoka as system engineer, I don’t know if I should feel if it’s too low or normal because google information give me anxiety.
I work at somewhat pretty well known company for factory automation. Got the old dorm as my place to stay. My income is only around 187k/month, after all the cut. Is it normal or by standard low or high. Also is it true there is gender gap in the paycheck.
To be honest, a lot of my colleagues leave because of this. Wondering if I should move on too. And it only 2 year.
I have a bunch of clothes with stains that I want to get dry cleaned, but all the dry cleaning places are basically full of white or maybe blue shirts. My clothes are rather more outlandish.. I’ve used dry cleaners a few times before and had no problems, but like… I dunno. Is it okay to ask them to get rid of, say, some lil spots on a pink sweater? I’ve never been turned away, but seeing NOTHING but shirts makes me wonder if they were just incredibly polite to me and I handed them something that makes a bunch of pain in the ass work for ’em.
Is it fucking impossible to search for English-language Kindle Unlimited books or am I just a dumbass?

Can’t seem to find any cinema in Tokyo that will show Boy and the Heron with the English subtitles (seems to have been released internationally with subs recently). Checked the usual TOHO locations but no luck.
