Questions of safety and cultural respect

I (F26) am moving from Denmark to Japan to do a semester abroad. I will study at Osaka university this spring/summer. I have researched culture, traditions and social norms, as well as safety for women. But I was wondering what google might not have the answers for.

1) What should I as a foreigner moving to Japan know/do not to be rude or disrespectful- both in everyday interactions as well as in classes with teachers?

2) How is safety when you are alone, as a female, during both day and night? For example I am a runner, and in Denmark I will run alone both when it’s light and dark out. I will also have no problem going home in the middle of the night after getting drunk in Denmark – is that also fine to do the same in Japan?

Thanks in advance!
