Need help finding an interpreter or translator for LASIK surgery in Tokyo

TL;DR: Need a translator to come with me to clinic for consultation and surgery, no idea how to find one that’s not massively expensive

So recently I’ve been looking into getting LASIK after almost 20 years of wearing glasses (my eyes are too astigmatised for contacts) and I’m starting to convince myself Tokyo is the place to do it. I’ve lived here a year and plan on staying for at least another year, so aftercare isn’t the problem.

However upon contacting a clinic, I was informed that because it was a serious medical procedure, I would need to bring a translator with me and that I could not use a translation app, I assume because of ‘informed consent’. So my question is; Does anyone know any interpreters that would be appropriate for that, in a reasonable price range, or even better, a free service that’s available to British nationals in Japan? A lot of the resources I found online were ‘enquire about pricing’ and that usually means it’s very far out of my price range!

As a back-up plan I’m considering asking someone from work, but I really don’t want to burden them with something like that (and I don’t really have any Japanese friends I could ask either unfortunately)
