Hi All! I have always been interested in working abroad, outside of the US, and I have always been really into Japanese culture but ruled out working there because of what I have heard about the work culture. After a recent trip there and doing more research into it, I can say that I have reconsidered.
I am currently working at a large American and Japanese company, but it doesn’t really do transfers. I have heard that most jobs for foreigners outside of Japan are tech related, engineering, or teaching, but I am in the business field and am trying to move into marketing. I currently don’t speak Japanese but am going to make efforts to learn, starting this year. I am aware that moving there in the business field is hard as a foreigner.
Has anyone in a similar situation found a way to work in Japan? How did you do it, and what advice would you give me?
