Requesting restaurant help since Tokyo isn’t my stomping ground.
In a few weeks I’m meeting with friends in central Tokyo, one of which hasn’t been to Japan before. She says she wants to try kaiseki but I don’t think she actually wants to spend 1.5-2万円. The nice looking place I found is probably cheaper and fresher if I just take the hour train to Kagaonsen, so it seems like a waste to go to Tokyo for Kaga yasai. If we were hanging out in Osaka I’d just take her to the Umeda underground for tiny restaurant hopping near Whity’s. And then I’m the only one who can hold my liquor.
\- Is there a corridor, mall floor, or street you’d recommend for tappas (small dish) hopping?
\- Do you recommend an upscale izakaya, tappas or multicourse restaurant in the 5千-1万円 range?
Thoughts appreciated.
