We are first timers to Tokyo music junkies love everything but country, dairy and caffeine free, anime nerds, and love visiting museums and other sites. We don’t drink but might a little while we are there. This is a tentative itinerary based on weather, crowds and closures not everything meant to be done.
Day 1
Arrive from Los Angeles to Haneda airport at 1630 have luggage shipped to second hotel tobu at Narita airport for day 2 stay
Have dinner near and Visit team lab planets
Day 2
go to toyusu fish market for breakfast then go to digital art museum or similar
Afternoon go to Joypolis, maybe check out the gundam unicorn at diver or trick art museum
Arrive in Narita by late evening for early morning departure to Phillipines on day 3
Day 3
depart at 0845 to Dumaguete to stay with pops for a week then go island hopping the next week
Day 4
arrive at Narita airport at 0730 have luggage shipped to hotel in shinjuku for night 2-4 stay and get pocket WiFi
catch train to sky tree have an early lunch
Afternoon maybe rent kimono and take rickshaw to the ninja cafe
Evening go to sensoji temple at night
Maybe Hit up DonQ to see what prices are before that and have Dinner somewhere like an izakaya up for suggestions 😎
Maybe check in and enjoy tattoo friendly onsen hotel in akihabara/asakusa has anyone tried the super hotels?
Day 5
Morning take train to Ikebukuro and go to Animate
Possibly check out some art and music venues.
Take train to shin okubo (strongly considering staying here) to visit Korean beauty store and maybe 2D cafe
Late Afternoon at Meiji shrine or metro govt building or Harry Potter studio( wife hasn’t seen the movies but I’m a huge fan 😭)options kept open
Late night Hit up shibuya sky local club restaurant scene or pepper robot cafe any of these depending on weather and such
Day 6
Morning at Ghibli museum
Maybe have an Afternoon Food ,thrifting and underground music bars in Shimokitazawa
Capcom and Nintendo stores
Finish night in kabuchiko or some other lively area between shinjuku and Shibuya
(Alternative is a day trip to Hakone (mostly for the sulfer crater ropeway) or a Yokohama, Kamakura combo.
Day 7
Morning Send luggage to last hotel in Ginza or shimbashi area
Take early bus or train to Fuji Q highland for 3 to 4 rides and haunted house 🏚️
maybe visit ice caves before or after fujiQ
return to Tokyo around 5
Maybe visit Nintendo and capcom stores then go to ninja restaurant akasaka
Late Date night in Ginza or roppongi maybe go to gonpachi nishi(kill bill restaurant )this night finish night at hotel in Ginza or shimbashi area
Day 8
Morning Tsukiji fish market
Tokyo aquarium art museum
Afternoon Ginza Kabukiza theatre for kabuki dance Or instead takarazuka theatre for a similar theatrical performance
Visit Tokyo center for the arts or Mori art museum Ropongi
Have Dinner at gonpachi nishi or music/club/restaurant somewhere in Ginza or akihabara
Day 9
tsukiji fish market or Happy pancakes soufle pancakes in Ginza
Hit up Tokyo tower or anything missed in ginza or that is more appealing arrive at Narita airport at 3pm for 555 departure to Los Angeles.
