Itinerary Check – 17 Days. Feedback appreciated

Me (30M) and my girlfriend (27F) are traveling from March 14 to March 30.

We’re looking forward to experiencing modern and traditional Japan and really want to do at least one night in an Onsen / Ryokan with hot springs, but are not really sure where in the itinerary would this fit.

Additionally, we will be traveling during one of the most busy times of the year and are already behind in booking hotels. Your help and feedback will be very much appreciated.

March 14 – Arrive at Narita Airport:
* Arrive at Narita Airport and transfer to accommodation in Tokyo.
* Rest and acclimate to the time zone.

March 15 – Tokyo to Takayama:
* Morning departure to Takayama.
* Explore the morning market and the historic Sanmachi Suji district.
* Visit Takayama Jinya and Takayama Matsuri Yatai Kaikan.

March 16 – Takayama to Kanazawa:
* Visit the Hida Folk Village in the morning.
* Afternoon departure to Kanazawa.
* Explore Kenrokuen Garden, Nagamachi samurai district, and the Geisha district.

March 17 – Kanazawa:
* Visit Myoryuji Temple and 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art.
* Explore the Nishi Chaya District for traditional tea houses.
* Optional visit to the Kanazawa Castle Park.

March 18 – Kanazawa to Kyoto:
* Morning departure to Kyoto.
* Visit Fushimi Inari Shrine in the afternoon.
* Evening stroll through Gion district.

March 19, 20, 21 – Kyoto with Sidetrip:
* Explore Kinkaku-ji and Ryoan-ji Temple.
* Day trip to Nara (Optional): visit Todai-ji Temple, Nara Park, and Kasuga Taisha Shrine.
* Explore the Arashiyama Bamboo Grove, Tenryu-ji Temple, and Iwatayama Monkey Park.
* Visit Fushimi Sake District for a sake tasting experience.

March 22 – Kyoto to Koyasan:
* Morning departure to Koyasan.
* Visit Okunoin Cemetery, Kongobuji Temple, and experience a traditional Buddhist ceremony.

March 23 – Koyasan to Osaka:
* Morning exploration of Koyasan.
* Afternoon departure to Osaka.
* Visit Osaka Castle and stroll through Dotonbori for nightlife.

March 24 – Osaka to Hiroshima:
* Early morning departure to Hiroshima.
* Visit the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park and Museum.
* Afternoon departure to Miyajima.
* Evening visit to Itsukushima Shrine and overnight stay.

March 25 – Miyajima to Tokyo:
* Morning exploration of Miyajima.
* Late morning departure to Himeji for a visit to Himeji Castle.
* Afternoon return to Tokyo.

March 26, 27, 28, 29 – Tokyo
* Explore Shibuya and Harajuku.
* Visit Asakusa to see Senso-ji Temple and Nakamise Shopping Street.
* Take a day trip to Kamakura (optional): see the Great Buddha, visit Hasedera Temple, and explore Komachi Street.
* Visit Nikko (optional): explore Toshogu Shrine, Rinnoji Temple, and take a stroll around Lake Chuzenji.
* Visit Hakone: (optional). Day trip ore one night stay to Mount Fuji sightseeing or overnight in an Onsen.

March 30 – Tokyo
* Mid-day departure from Narita.
