Questions about the official list of 214 traditional radicals

Hello, I’ve been studying Japanese and got fascinated with Chinese characters. I have a few questions about the radical list.

1. Are radicals considered indivisible, despite sometimes being built from other radicals? If so, why?
2. Is there any practical benefit in dissecting all the radicals in terms of what subradicals they may be composed of?
3. Is there a list somewhere that shows all the 214 radicals’ composition in terms of subradicals?
4. Is there a list that shows which radicals are also their own kanji?

Thanks in advance for your help!
