I moved here a few months ago to be an ALT. Having finally gotten settled, I am now looking to rebuild my artistic practice. In the US, I was pursuing a tattoo apprenticeship, all of the art I have made in the last year and half was created in service of that goal. Having an end product in mind gave my art direction.
I have no idea what being an independent artist is like in Japan. Ideally, I’d like to sell my art on the side, maybe do some craft fairs, while working a regular office job (for the visa and income). I’d like to know of any print-on-demand services like Redbubble or Society6 that I can use in Japan, just for the sake of giving parameters of what products I can tailor my art to. Hearing any of your experiences selling art in Japan would be very helpful!
Also, if any Japanese man reading this wants to marry me so I can stay in this country on a spousal visa and pursue my art without having to work full time, I am taking applications :).
