First time to Japan

Hi,

I’m traveling to Japan in August(OMG the humidity….ye ye i know) and since it’s my first solo travel i have already started planing it. Also i would like to buy a ticket in the next few weeks.

I see a lot of posts of people sharing their plans and asking for advice and this will be another post like that, sry. I took from other posts as much as i could but i would still like to hear your thoughts. I could use advice for general organisation of travel and for Tokyo. I will be making future posts asking for advice concerning other cities when i do some more research.

I will spend in Japan around 20 days, loosing 2 days on travel. So basically i have 18 days to organise.

**My plan for now**(still have 1-2 days left to decide what to do):

*Tokyo – 8 days*

*Osaka – 3 days*

*Kyoto – 3 days*

*Nara – 1 day*

*Hiroshima – 1 day*

**My plan for Tokyo:**

Day 1: Getting to hostel, Tsukiji market, finding a place to eat (keep it light on day 1 but maybe adding something more depending on your thoughts)

Day 2: Shibuya Crossing and Hachikō statue, Meiji Jingu, Harajuku, Akihabara(MEGA Don Quijote, Maid cafe, Radio Kaikan, Gamers), Shibuya Sky, Nonbei Yokocho

Day 3: Asakusa(Senso-ji, Nakamise), Ueno park, Tokyo National Museum, Imperial palace & Chidorigafuchi Park

Day 4: Shinjuku, Hanazono Shrine, Kabukicho, Golden Gai, Gyoen National Garden, Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, Omoide Yokocho, Yotsuya Suga shrine steps

Day 5: Nikko

Day 6: Kamakura & Yokohama(is it even possible to make it in 1 day or will i need 2 days to see both?)

Day 7: Mt. Fuji, lake Kawaguchiko, Fujinomya(maybe sleep over in Fujinomya)

Day 8: maybe explore gastronomy, TOEI animation museum, Kawagoe or Ikebukuro…advice please

**Questions:**

1. Thoughts on schedule of days spent on each location/city
2. Advice on Tokyo plans, is there a better way of pairing certain locations, am i missing something important?
3. I love Japanese cuisine, i would like advice for sushi bars and ramen bars. Would love to visit omakase style sushi restaurant. Please recommend me some?
4. Since i’m in Japan in August(OMG humidity…again, i know) i would like to check on one of the festivals. There is Kure festival near Hiroshima and Lake Biwa great fireworks near Kyoto. If you know any other thats close to my destinations please recommend, i want to see fireworks 😀

I should mention i’m anime/manga fan, love Japanese cuisine, history/mythology, katana enthusiast and i’m not interested in Disneyland or shopping so please don’t recommend those. Hope this will help you understand my interests.

Thank You for taking the time to read this and for advice. If i remember something else i will edit post.
