I’m not planning to get one but I’ve heard even foreigners can have one too and I was wondering how it would be like? Does it have to be their name just in katakana or let’s say someone is called Violeta Sarita (not my name, I’m a guy and this is just an example please) where Violeta means Violet (latin origin) and Sarita means river or princess (India origin), can you use the kanji of those meanings to merge into a name for your hanko? Like 紫姫、 紫の姫、紫川、紫の川 or vice versa, or it wouldn’t sound like their name anymore? Sorry if this sounds stupid but I’m really curious about this topic… please educate me!
