I created this simple lookup table to help me get more fluent at reading years. Thought I would share it because it might help others to practice reading numbers up until 9999.
You can read from left to right and pick the appropriate row depending on the next digit you encounter. E.g. 5381 can be read by going through the table as follows:
* Column 1, Row 5: ごせん
* Column 2, Row 3: さんびゃく
* Column 3, Row 8: はちじゅう
* Column 4, Row 1: いち
