Hi there! I’m about to relocate to Tokyo soon, and I’m currently in the process of searching for an international school for my 2 kids. I noticed that almost all schools ask for a non-refundable application fee of about 25,000-30,000 yen per child. Do you have any experience of paying the fee and still being rejected? It feels a bit weird that you have to pay quite an high fee without knowing beforehand if there are any seats available. What if I start the application process with 5 schools, just to make sure I’ll get one seat, I can easily end up tossing ~200,000 yen down the drain. What is your opinion on that?
