  1. I get it. There is nothing left he can archieve.
Even winning the G1 or the world title would just be just another G1 or world title reign or dome main event.
He did everything possible in NJPW

  2. It’s understandable. Initially it was disappointing, but now the road ahead becomes a little more interesting.

I just wish he was like Will and Giulia and gave a less sudden notice.

  3. Would it made a difference if say, New Japan gave Okada more free reign to go to other promotions while still under contract? Why not have him be take the World Titles from NOAH and All Japan so he can match the record made by Misawa?

  4. I get it, he’s in great shape still and he needs to bank on that and maximise on that while he can. NJPW can’t pay what he’s got a taste of in America, same as Ospreay.

I think the timing isn’t great though. I feel like if he made this decision some time ago and put more people over we would be more accepting. As it stands he’s on his way out with none of the younger guys put over

  5. I’m sure when he heard how much Will got (and probably Jay and the Bucks too) he decided to see what he could get.

  6. Not a tribalistic fan , I’ve got my favoured promotions but my take on it….. He’s 36 now and he’s still got plenty in the “tank” so he knows papa H is keen so whilst he’s still fit he can work that longer schedule , make his money, even become a champion and do a mania for 2 or 3 years build up a sizeable wage (not to say he wasn’t paid well in NJPW) bit of burn out and then recover and go on a tear in AEW/Impact/Noah as he begins to wind down.

All I want as a selfish fan is a well built, once recovered fully, Omega vs Okada 5 in AEW or at Mania if it’s later down the line.

  7. He just doesn’t want to go down the card. If he really wanted to work more overseas than fight for the Global championship and make that into something.

  8. I don’t blame him. The man delivered so many big matches for the promotion. My main compliant and reason why Okada should have dropped belt to Sanada was there was no one left for Okada to wrestle. That’s not a knock on the wrestler. It was on the promotion.

And in a way, that’s the reason why he wants to leave. There’s no one exciting for him, not you, him to wrestle. Better to have him leave for a new challenge, then have an uninspired Okada mailing it home in NJPW.

There’s a lot of defenders of the NJPW faith on here, but this should be the wake up call to all of them that the shit they’re serving isn’t very good. And that includes the HOT mess and the Hardass Cosplayers the War Twats. They’re dweebs that are badasses in their mom’s basements. No one believes they could go to East St. Louis and they could handle themselves.
