Hi all,
I am in the process of hopefully having my working holiday visa approved, and will be moving to Japan in 2025 from Australia for 6 to 12 months.
My GP/doctor said I can take a month worth of prescription SSRI’s, and confirmed they are not a restricted drug in Japan.
What’s the process in Japan look like to get a script for SSRI’s? I’ll be landing in Tokyo and plan on staying around there for the first month of my stay.
Any tips much appreciated

You’ll basically have to be re-diagnosed by a psychiatrist or in the best case, providing a letter from your doctor might shorten the process.
It’s really really in your best interest to bring AT LEAST 3-6 months of medicine (or the whole 12 months) with you and just submit a Yunyu Kakunin-sho before you travel.
