There aren’t many major changes, but a few “catch all” rules have been split apart to make things a little easier to follow.
**1.Subreddit Participation Exclusive to Residents of Japan**
Participation in this subreddit is reserved exclusively for actual residents of Japan. If you are not currently residing in Japan (including former residents, individuals awaiting residency, or periodic visitors), please refrain from posting or commenting. A valid status of residence is required for participation.
**2.Foster Respectful Discourse**
Sexism, racism, homophobia, personal attacks, trolling, and jerkishness are strictly prohibited. Ensure your comments align with the context, and scale sensitivity accordingly to maintain a respectful atmosphere.
**3.No Personal Attacks or Harassment**
Refrain from personally attacking users, including harassment in comments, private messages (PMs), following them onto unrelated threads, and unnecessary pinging. Treat others with respect during discussions.
**4.Avoid Offensive Language**
In order to uphold a positive and inclusive environment, refrain from using slurs or insults. Violation may result in content removal and potential user suspension.
**5.Protect Personal Information**
Do not include or request personally identifying information. Respecting privacy is crucial; any posts or comments violating this rule will be promptly removed.
**6.Add Value with Comments**
When posting or replying, contribute content that adds value to the discussion. Refrain from AI-generated content, low-content posts, and ensure your input enhances the discussion.
7.Relevance to Residents of Japan
All posts must be relevant to residents of Japan. Off-topic content and foreign politics are not permitted.
**8.Prohibited Content**
Prohibited content includes necroposting, news articles, proxy posts, off-topic content, spam, self-promotion, soliciting funds, links to blogs/videos/social media, NSFW content, illegal transactions, and any content related to prostitution.
**9.No Meetup Requests**
Due to past issues involving stalking and assaults, meetup requests are not permitted.
**10.Obtain Permission for Selling or Participation Posts**
Seek modmail permission before posting items for sale or requesting participants for research projects, help with homework, and the like.
**11.No Immigration Processing Times Posts**
Avoid posting regarding immigration processing times. Every case is unique, please contact immigration directly for concerns.
**12.Ban Evasion**
Accounts found ban evading will be banned and reported to admins for further action.
**13.Other users/Sub moderation**
For questions or concerns about other users or sub moderation, please use Modmail.
