Experiences moving out of Leopalace/ reparation costs

Hello! I’m moving out of my Leopalace after my 2 year contract finishes and I will be moving to my home country after that. I have really taken care of the apartment and there is absolutely minimum damage, I do count on them making me pay a replacement for the crappy table they gave me (the typical short, 4 legged one that gets the surface broken by just having some tape fall onto it) does anyone know where they sell the same curtains and tables Leopalace buys? Im thinking of buying replacements as it is much cheaper than what they say they would charge me for them on the website. Anyway, when I moved in I didn’t file a damages report, the previous tenant smoked like a chimney and my house stank of tobacco, the ceiling has always been yellowish (you can see a small white spot on the ceiling from when they changed the fire detector to a different place) am I screwed? Will they charge me for that? Can anyone share how much they paid for damages when leaving leopalace? I am extremely anxious they will try to scam me as I have heard awful things about them…

Why didn’t you do that? Everyone should do it, otherwise they can charge you for the stuff the previous tenant did.

I left leopalace in 2021 (lived for 2 years) and had to pay like around half my rent, cause I did no damage and broke nothing, even cleaned the place- vacuumed and mopped before I leave on the final day. Kitchen and toilet/bath area was as clean as the day I moved in too.

I don’t know how you can live with that. Big no from me.

  3. I had heard awful things about Leopalace moving out fees too, and I’m sure that does happen, but when I moved out of mine in 2021 I got a huge refund of most of my deposit. No charges or scams. I had totally fucked up the wallpaper but the rest of the apartment was left in good condition.

  4. I filled out the damages report. Didn’t cause any new damages to the apartment and left it clean.

I owed nothing upon move out.

Provided you dot your i’s and cross your t’s there’s not much to be scammed by but if you damage stuff or you just live with damaged stuff from the previous tenant without notifying them then who’s to say you didn’t damage it and they’ll go after you for it.

In your case if you have no proof of the issues existing before moving in, you’re probably on the hook for them. This goes for pretty much any rental not just leopalace.

  5. I somehow carved a divot out of the flooring of my leopalace apartment they never even contacted me. That place stayed intact through the hellacious Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake when I thought the Earth was swallowing me up.

  6. Moved out last year September. Cleaned the room and left nothing. The floor was mostly carpeted and I did what I could to clean it but it was still stained. Same goes for a portion of the wall. The appliances are okay including the table. The windows actually had some cracks during my 5 year stay. Can’t really understand what made the cracks as I didn’t bump or did anything to the windows. So I was greatly stressed. However, I didn’t have to pay anything when the inspector came and checked. I was surprised and incredibly relieved. I moved to another Leopalace apartment. The reason I moved was because my previous apartment building was going to be demolished by the government, so I guess that’s a big factor.

  7. I got a big refund from my deposit when I moved out of a 2 year contract. It was quite the surprise when I was expecting to pay more.
