For an art project I need to make a word that embodies a concept opposite to that of “手裏剣” (Shuriken), which means “hand hidden blade”. The idea is to transform the negative or aggressive connotation of “Shuriken” into something positive and protective.
With some help of GPT chat I came up with “手裏護 (Shurigo)”, where “手裏” (Shuri) maintains the original meaning of “hand” and “hidden”, while “護” (Go) means “to protect” or “to guard”. The intended meaning of “手裏護” would be “hand-hidden protection” or “protection in the palm”, suggesting a protective force.
