  1. Don’t tip. You’d be tipping a large company.

If people start to tip, companies will start to pay lower salaries.

  2. If you find the same restaurant delivering but through another platform that does not impose tips, use that other app (demaecan for instance).

Otherwise don’t. Even if it’s snowing or raining.

  3. Generally, no. Cos tipping is not a thing here, at all.

That said, if a bicyclist delivers to me in bad weather, I *will* give a tip. Not a huge one, just a few hundred yen.

But I figure, bicyclists prob can’t turn as many tricks per hour as motorcyclists, and also if they’re in such need of work they’re out slogging in awful weather, they’d prob really appreciate a lil extra.

It’s the only time I tip here, ever. People get paid living wages, tipping culture sucks ass and is completely not necessary, but I do like to show kindness to someone possibly doing it tough (and if not then good for them idk) whilst saving my lazy ass from going out in shite weather.

  4. I tip, and some drivers even say thanks. Idk.

keep downvoting me, it makes my penis harder.

  5. I never tip food delivery people but I always give them a chocolate bar, usually a KitKat, it brings a smile and seems to be appreciated.

  6. I personally do. But I hand them the money on arrival because we never know how much they get if we do it through the app. I have a good reason for it. Not that American bs where people depend on that shit.

I go out to eat on my own when I want but when it’s like 10-11-11:30 and I crave something, that’s when I use uber eats. Other times never.

Let me explain before people bark at me. I never had to do menial jobs like these. Everything I need was and is available at my fingertips. If I need something done I pay someone else and relax. When I was in school everyone was doing part time. My Vietnamese friend was doing two jobs so she can save and send money home. While was “pretending” to work at a restaurant. I was working there with her but only like 3 days so people think I doing same as them. While she work as much as they give her under the time limit.

So I always happily give them money on arrival because at dead of the night they get me what i crave. I tip -1000 the total amount. So if its 6000 yen I give them 5000. Is it excessive? For me no. And I’ve never been turned down. I know they can use the money.

So decide it yourself and not through other people’s opinions because most imagine the whole American bs system when they hear the word “tip”. I do it because I’m greatful as I can eat roll over and sleep when it’s past 10-11 at night.

  7. My Japanese friend was doing Uber Eats deliveries while we were in vocational school a few years back. I asked him about this and he said tipping 100 yen is enough if you want to.
