Bachelor’s Degree In Japan

Hi, I’ll try and keep it short.
Im 25, learning Japanese, and I want to move to Japan. The problem is, I don’t have a bachelor’s degree. Making it impossible to get a work visa. So I looked into other ways, and one said to get a student visa and get my bachelor’s degree in Japan.
Now, I assume they don’t just accept any old foreigner’s into Japanese universities. So I’m already competing there.
My biggest problem is this:
I dont have any A levels. Only a couple diploma’s. I did two separate courses in college. Had I stayed in my level 3 course for another year, I’d have the equivalent to 3 A levels. Alas, I did not know this at the time.
In the UK (where I’m from) you don’t always need A levels to study for a degree. Somehow I feel I’ll need some for Japan.

So my questions are:
Do I need A levels to study for a bachelor’s degree in Japan?
And if so,
Is there any way I can still study in Japan, without A levels. Even if it’s not to get my degree?

Thanks.
