Help with trains and travel Tokyo to Mt. Fuji

Hoping for some help as I’m getting overwhelmed (sorry in advance if the formatting is off as I’m on mobile)

My partner and I are due to travel to Tokyo in August. On our way from Tokyo to Kyoto we plan to stay overnight in Mount Fuji area. I’m currently looking at things to do in the area and so far on my list are:

– 5th Station
– Panoramic ropeway
– Wind and ice caves
– Lake ashi (or other lake?)
– Tatego-Hama Beach

If anyone has any other suggestions please do let me know!

The main reason I’m stressed is the transport – if we get the Fuji express from Tokyo where should we disembark? And once we are off, how do we travel to these sites? Are there local buses? Do you have to book in advance?

I don’t think we will be getting a JR pass as I’m not currently sure it’s worth it for the travel we will be doing.

If it makes a difference we plan to arrive on a Monday and depart the following day – I’ve checked and it won’t be a public holiday on these dates.

Any help or guidance would be very appreciated!
