Sanity checking my plans to move to Japan

Hi,

I just want someone to check over my plans to move to Japan to make sure that I’m not doing something completely stupid. So, I’m a 21 year old male from the UK and I’m currently enrolled in a degree apprenticeship in IT.

For context for the people who are unfamilar about what is a degree apprenticeship, it’s a scheme by the UK government that was introduced almost a decade ago to give people a path to a Bachelor degree (study at a university) while working in a full time role at a company. The idea is that you get work experience and a degree at the same time while getting no student debts.

Currently, I’m expecting to finish that degree next year and looking to work in the UK for a few more years before the move so I can study Japanese and bring it up to scratch before making the move (currently, I only speak beginner level Japanese) and I’m looking to make the move before the end of the decade (2027 at the earliest which would mean I would have around 6 years of experience in the IT industry) and looking to do a sysadmin role in a company.

Is this plan a sane idea or should I reconsider?
