Japan on a work holiday visa, leaving soon, a few questions

Hello Reddit, A friend of mine pointed me this way, I never used Reddit before, so I hope I don’t mess up too much!

Anyway, I spent the last few hours reading the wiki here and the FAQ in r/traveljapan, and it helped me a lot. A few questions remain however, and I hope someone is kind enough to help me.

First of all, about me: I’m a 30 y/o German citizen with a Working Holiday visa, leaving next month. I acquired the visa last year already, but due to some private family matter, I could only leave now for Japan, a week before it expires, and plan on staying at least until Christmas.

I got my flight and insurances (health-, liability-, legal-, accident- and travel emergency- insurance) <-Anything important missing?

I still need a place to stay, which will be in the general Tokyo area.

I know I maybe should have looked sooner into a place to stay, but the situation was/is very complicated and I wasn’t sure if I can go at all.

Anyway, thanks to the housing Wiki I found a few places I consider for my Stay, and there are a few fees I don’t quite understand. e.g., on leonpalace21:

* Next month’s room usage fee (rent/common charges)
* Next month’s environmental fee
* Next month’s internet usage fee(Optional)

Are these fees one-time payments, or monthly? These fees are quite confusing.

Also:

* Guarantee fee
* Tenant Support System Plus (optional)
* Antibacterial construction cost (Optional)

What are these fees in general?

Also, do I need to register Water/Electricity/Internet separately, and when and where do I do so? It doesn’t say so on the listings.

I basically just need a 10m² tiny-apartment, a place to put my stuff and a bed to sleep in, I don’t plan on being inside too much. (For reference my German apartment right now is 15m²) I considered a shared house, but I 100% don’t want to share a room with somebody, and I really would like to have a private WC/shower (not a must, but hugely preferred), so I’m unsure.

Next up are 2 simple questions:
1: Is there something like a monthly ticket for the Trains/subways, or a JR-Central + JR-East monthly pass? As far as I know I can’t use the JR-Rail pass, since it’s only valid for Tourism Visas, and every other “Regional pass” I found online is for tourists also.

2: Is there something like a mobile provider with an unlimited data plan? If not, is there a place where I can compare providers and their cost and data packs? (I remember I paid 50€ for a 4 GB Travel sim last time I visited, and I hope I can get a better deal than that, Phone calls/messages are not as important, my German Sim covers a lot of that, but it doesn’t cover data outside of EU for some reason)

Lastly, I checked with the Ministry of Health for importing drugs, I tend to get headaches quite a lot so I would like to import some ibuprofen/ Acetylsalicylic acid (Aspirin) and as far as I can tell it’s not on the prohibited list, so I don’t need a “Yunyu Kakunin-sho” and can bring “Up to a 2-month supply”, how do I determine what 2 Months of supply are? I use one large pack in about 6 months, can I just bring that?

Also Do I read it right that I can bring 24 different deodorants and 24 different shampoos? Or is it 24 different items of cosmetics?

Also: General tips are always welcome, I know for example I need to register with the local town hall within 2 weeks of me moving in, get a bank account at the Japan Post, since they are the only ones who don’t require a 6 months stay before you can open an account, and I should exchange my driver’s license at a JAF place once I plan on driving a vehicle.

Thank you for everyone helping me out, and for reading all that in the first place!
