Good day! I just wanted to ask how and where can I send my letter of request for my Koseki Tohon, I am half Pilipino and I live in the Philippines. We don’t have contact with my Japanese father and his family and there is no hope that he will help us anyway.
So I wanted to ask if do you know their email or address. We really need a copy of my Koseki Tohon for my Japanese citizenship. To be honest we never even have a copy of my Koseki Tohon ever since I’m born😭 so yeah we have no source of where and how we will contact the japan for it.

Why not contact the Japanese Embassy where you live?
I could be wrong, but I think you will need to know which city office your dad goes to. There’s not one place in Japan that keeps all the kosekis. We needed a copy when we were trying to travel during lockdown, and from what I remember, there was no way our office would send us a copy. My sister in-law had to go in person to get us a copy.

You have to do it by mail, but try this
Are you sure your dad registered you in a Koseki to begin with? If he didn’t within 90 days after you were born then you wouldn’t be a citizen. That’s the most important question. I asked cause of how you worded it “never even have a copy of my koseki”
