Looking at the costs/benefits.
I plan to travel from Osaka to Koyasan later this year, spending 1 night and 2 days there. Hoping to arrive by 12pm and leave by 10am the following day.
My itinerary is still in flux, but will be getting a JR Kansai Area Wide Pass, as I plan to visit Okayama and Kinosaki as well.
So – does the Thru Pass offer the cableway and the buses in Koyasan as well? Or is it just the Railway to Gokurakubashi?
Would the Thru Pass be worth it if I used it for a trip from Kansai Airport to Tennoji, and then a return to Mt Koya?
I do plan to go to a few of the highlights on Mt Koya, the cemetery, etc
Can change things around as need be.
Also looking at Nara and Kyoto as potential locations to go to.
