I’m just starting to look for a house to buy, but honestly… I don’t really know how to start. I’m getting conflicting information from everyone I ask. Some people say I need to find a house I like, then look for the agent responsible for the house. Some people say the opposite. Some people say I need to make a down payment of no more than 10%. Some people are saying I need at least 20%. People who own homes… what were your first steps in buying it? If it helps, I have a decent job and permanent residence. Also, I’m expecting conflicting information in this sub as well, I’m just interested in the different paths people took to homeownership.
