I have been living and working in Japan for two years now, looking to get a new Macbook and am wondering if I should get it with a Japanese keyboard to learn how to use them better. My wife has one and I often times stumble when I use it. Is there a benefit to know how to use one well or will it be a skill that might become obsolete in the near future? I do web / graphic design for work so this is a big choice for me as I’d probably need to re-learn all of the key commands. I rarely use other computers besides my own and I don’t have a work computer since I work from home.

TLDR: Will knowing how to use a Japanese style computer keyboard improve my chances of succeeding in the workplace here in Japan?
