Where to find the outfits Japanese women wear?

I don’t know if this is the right place to ask. But I always seen videos and pictures of them wearing long cute flowy skirts or at knee or above length skirt, an adorable shirt or a blouse with cardigan, and some kind of heeled shoes or loafers.
I have always wanted to wear those kind of outfits but I can never find any luck in American stores… I know I can order them online but they are always expensive, too small, or low quality for some reason.
Please help, I always wanted to wear those types of outfits!

  1. uniqlo and muji might exist internationally

learning to look in thrift stores (in Asian-American communities for example) or

to sew your own pieces (especially flowy skirts)

also – from a non-japanese body type – if you are not petite, you wont look petite. I mean please inspect the images/media that you are looking up to and whether it would really suit you. not saying you cannot be cute, but what japanese media shows is rarely a bigger (than petite) body type in a flattering look.

the emulation of the style without the same outfits in my opinion comes down to:

good quality simple clothing items, consequently going for business chic or a soft beige/pinkish theme, and accessorizing appropriately, learning the hair styling.

  2. Probly not very helpful but my gf and her crew get their old time skirts and wide leg pants at a bunch of places i’ve never seen outside of Japan. They love uniqlo but Japanese and American uniqlo are very different. Size always gonna be an issue if you buying Japanese clothing…unless you are TINY

Only advice I can give is to follow Japanese fashion instagram and hope for the best with online ordering. Or go to Japan yourself
