Kyoto Itinerary Help – Any advice/feedback will be appreciated!

Hi everyone, we will be in Kyoto for 3 nights in May with a group of 4.

This is my itinerary I have planned for Kyoto in May, I’m incredibly excited as Kyoto has been my dream for years – and have struggled to whittle down this itinerary for 3-4 days.

Sadly I only have 3 nights since my relatives didn’t allow to extend.

I was hoping for any feedback, suggestions, and advice on the following – thanks so much!

Day 1 –

Morning (6-7am)

Check out from the hotel in Tokyo

Catch the early train to Kyoto & enjoy bento breakast on board

Arrive in Kyoto by 10am and drop of luggage at hotel

Visit Kinnen Ji (8min walk from Hotel)

Afternoon

Explore the streets of Sannenzaka & Ninnenzaka (10min away from Kinnen Ji)

Maccha House Ninenzaka

Kodai Ji Temple

Check in and rest at the Hotel

Evening

Visit Gion district in the evening (8 min walk from Hotel)

Walk along the banks of the Kamo River

Day 2

Morning (7am)

Early train to Arashiyama Station (2 stops)

Grab a coffee from the famous %Arabica

Visit the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest

Visit the Tenryu Ji Temple

Visit the Otagi Nenbutsu-ji Temple

Afternoon

Visit Kimino Forest

Grab lunch at Yosiya Arashiyama

Train to Moss Gardens (10 min)

Visit Saiho-ji (Koke-dera) and Giōji Temple

Evening

Train back to Gion

Rest at Hotel

Day 3

Morning

Bus to Fushimi (20mins)

Explore Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine

Back to Hotel and Rest

Afternoon

Kameyakiyonaga Sweet Shop nearby

Train to Kibune/Kurasama + Taxi (1hr)

Explore Kibune: Hirobun, Kawadoko, Mystic River

Evening

Train back to Gion (1hr)

Relax at Hotel

Day 4

Morning

Wake up early at to see Ninenzaka and Sannenzaka in serenity

Breakfast at traditional tatami starbucks

Kiyomizu Dera

Yasaka Jinja Shrine

Check out from Hotel at 12pm

Afternoon

Take train to Namba, Osaka at 3pm

Check in Hotel

Evening

Rest
