Hi! I’m a high school student living in Korea! (sorry for my bad English TT) I’m going to college this fall and I got into UIUC business and keio university PEARL program(economics major). (and i’ll probably be admitted to waseda SPSE(economics major)as well!) My mom wants me to go to university in Japan and dad wants me to go to university in the U.S., so i’m really confused right now… UIUC is well know in both Korea and the U.S.! but my parents can afford about $70,000/year so the cost of attendance is quite expensive for my family. I’ve also heard that it is hard for international students to get a job after graduating university in the U.S.! I really need to get a job right after graduating because my parents can’t afford the tuition for graduate school if i go to UIUC for undergraduate😭 and I’m an introvert, so i’m not sure if i’ll be able to adjust to college life in the U.S.🥺 On the other hand, it’ll be easy to get a job in good companies like JP Morgan or Deloitte after graduating keio or waseda university!! and the cost of attendance for these school is less than $30,000 (and there’s lots of scholarships opportunities as well.) I can speak Japanese fluently and i feel like it’ll be much easier to live in Japan than live in the U.S. because Japan is much safer than the U.S. and really close to Korea as well! (I’ve been to Japan many times and i got really good impressions.) However, the big problem is that Japanese universities are not considered prestigious outside of Japan… even in Korea😱 Do u think ‘Japanese University -> foreign companies in Japan -> graduate school in the U.S. -> work in the U.S.’ would be possible?! and I really can’t decide between UIUC and waseda or keio! please give me some advice!!
