So I was given the opportunity to upgrade last week. However, when they sent my information packet to CLAIR, CLAIR rejected my upgrade. Their reasoning is because I have a hospitalization coming up between now and the start date and I wouldn’t be able to get my status of residence changed over because of this. So, I sent a reply email asking if their answer would change if I didn’t go through with the hospitalization or if I came home (I’m in Japan already) to go through the normal route. I’m waiting to hear back now.
Has anyone ever been in a situation like this? What happened?
