Chiebukuro (知恵袋)is what I use, it’s nowhere near as comprehensive as Reddit but you can ask and answer random things in a similar way.
i use the app HelloTalk to talk and ask questions to native speakers , it’s really pleasant tbh
2CH
Like others said, 2ch and other ch websites (like girls channel for girl topics, etc) are closest to reddit in style and userbase. Though I’d say a lot of the channel sites are pretty shady, more disagreeable people on them. Reddit is pretty intelligent and tame IMO.
Chiebukuro is a site like yahoo answers, there aren’t communities but you can search topics and ask your own questions. It’s pretty good.
Then you have matome sites, it’s like putting a ch site through a sieve and it picks out some of the bullshit. [this one](http://blog.livedoor.jp/nwknews/) is aight if you think you’d be interested
As others mentioned, Yahoo-Chiebukuro & 2chan are some two of the suggestions — although you would’ve expect the same level of intellectualism and un-politicalness (of 2chan) to 4chan. I have only been to English Yahoo & Chiebukuro for pretty mild questions with few responses, but I would’ve been cautious (as anywhere you would be on the Internet) since I’ve heard of weird threads.
theres no site with up/down vote system and sucs, but you can check ou this page for a bunch of JP subs [https://reddit-watch.herokuapp.com/accounts_active](https://reddit-watch.herokuapp.com/accounts_active)

https://www.2chan.net/ may be what you’re looking for, it is an imageboard.
