  1. Every teacher I ever worked with told me they hated the job and wanted to quit. One of them was burned out already at the ripe old age of 24. Fat chance on anything changing about it though.

  2. One huge perk about being a teacher is the long and well deserved school holidays that they get… except Japanese teachers who have to go into the school office everyday even when there are no children.

    There are so many small things the administration could do to make teaching a desirable profession but unless it involves making teachers have a little more gaman and gambarre, they refuse to do anything.

  3. My ex gf was a teacher at Japanese junior high school – she finished late everyday and only had Sundays off due to club activities (every teacher has to take charge of a club and it’s usually something they have no interest in). It was basically slavery and she was so exhausted all the time.
