Looking for somewhat higher-quality women’s office work clothes and getting a bit frustrated, probably because I am looking in the wrong stores. To paraphrase that one episode of Daria, “stretch pants! Everywhere, stretch pants!”
There are just so many cheesy synthetics floating around right now especially for women’s clothes, and yes I know this is not just a Japan-specific thing. Oh right, this isn’t the complaint thread. Anyway I go in shops like Aoyama/Aoki and I’m like “wow look at all the nice wool pants” and then I realize I’m in the men’s section. I find my way to the tiny corner of women’s stuff all the way in the back and there are like three choices, all polyester and with those bunchy elastic waistbands, in recruit suit black and whatever two colors are trendy this season. “Two way stretch! It’s ~*comfortable*~!” I don’t need to be comfortable, I need to command respect from my minions. I also looked in one of the fancy department stores and found some rather expensive women’s pants in nicer materials but they also had that bunchy elastic waistband ?!?
So anyway the tl;dr version is that I am looking for women’s work clothes (particularly pants right now, I definitely don’t need suits or anything like that) that are nicer non-synthetic materials like wool and that don’t have those bunchy elastic waistbands. Any pointers to names of shops I should be looking in would be much appreciated.
In the intro to *Inai Inai Baa!* on the telly this morning, I couldn’t help but notice that Wanwan and O-chan initially emerge from behind what appear to be the gigantic corpses of Poupo’s species.
Is this what will eventually become of Utan? 🙁
