I want to get into a better physical shape. Not just to lose some weight, but to gain more flexibility and muscle strength. I have been going to the gym in the past (Anytime, Konami) but it is very difficult for me do it myself. There’s just so many things in the gym, so much stuff that you can do that I get lost and simply don’t know how to proceed. I tried machines and some basic exercises in free weights area but I saw little to no effect after months. Maybe it’s because I simply needed more time and research, but maybe I was approaching it totally wrong – I don’t know and that is my source of anxiety.
Now I also have a kid and I want to make the most of my very little time that I have in the day. So I would like to try a more guided approach and get support from a professional. At the moment I’m considering among the following options: get an appointed personal trainer at a local gym, go to a dedicated personal training gym, or try some kind of fitness app or online counseling. Leaning towards a dedicated personal training gym, but they are so expensive… Are they worth it? Or are there any other options to consider? What is your recommendation? I live in central Tokyo if it matters.
