Hi everyone.
I’m visitting Sapporo in mid February this year with my family. And we want to go to the Lake Shikotsu Ice Festival.
However all tour package that we found already sold out.
So, we have booked a car rental to drive by ourselves (No experience driving in winter) (Still can cancel)
But a lot of people are saying its not advisable for us to drive there since we do not have winter driving experience. I’m looking for an assurance from you all that it’s actually okay to drive there and the road from Sapporo to Lake Shikotsu is all good.
Here are our options:
Option 1 : Continue with the car rental, and drive carefully.
Option 2 : Take bus to Chitose Airport, then take taxi/bus to Lake Shikotsu.
(Is it easy to get taxi from airport? And is it easy to get taxi at Lake Shikotsu going back to the airport?
