My mother in law is in her late eighties and has mild dementia. Almost very time we visit, we find boxes of stuff she has ordered from the tv shopping channel. Often monthly subscriptions. She mostly can’t remember ordering the item and we suspect she throws away things she “discovered” in her hallway.
We try and contact the selling company and about half are really good and cancel the subscription and refund returns. However, the other half just refuse to help at all. We had to really threaten one to cancel a 12-month subscription.
Are there any legal protections anyone knows about? (I have googled and its mostly “guidelines” or references to over the counter sales).
