I want to note, given Karl’s tweets during the G1 participants announcement last night, that this was almost certainly recorded quite a while ago. Also that this video has been up for almost an hour, but none of the official NJPW social accounts have tweeted about it yet.
Karl participating in the tag tournament (and knowing he would be doing so) would not necessarily mean he couldn’t be in the G1, since everything except the tournament finals will be happening at the tapings this Sunday. The only way he would need to miss the G1 would be if he was scheduled for the finals, which will happen at the tapings that take place right in the middle of the G1 tour (7/24).
