Hi everyone I have a Japanese residence but was born and raised overseas so there a still a lot of things in japan I have found hard to navigate. Recently I have been notified by the landlord of my apartment that I will be forced to leave my apartment due to it being an old building and it’s apparently starting to break down. I signed a two year contract for this apartment but it will be cut short right around the 1 year mark which will be in 4 months. I was wondering if legally they are required to compensate for my moving and real estate agent fee for my next apartment as it is very costly to move twice in one year and they are the ones cutting my contract short. I have not talked to them yet about this but was wondering if anybody here as any knowledge just so I am more prepared when I confront them about this. Any feedback or knowledgeable would be much appreciated ! Thank you.
