Hey guys I am not sure if anyone here knows a lot about dual citizenship in Japan/ US but I am in a little bit of a pickle trying to figure out what I need to do.
I have a Japanese nationality and I have a permanent residency in the United States. Can I apply for a citizenship in the US without Japanese nationality going away? Is there a way to do this legally? Because I know Japan only allows 1 typically.
If I am a citizen in both, can Japan even find out?
I want to live in Japan for a while but I don’t want to lose my permanent residency status here in the United States since my mom lives here so I am looking for tips.
