AT License Restriction – Converting to MT(限定解)

Hi Everyone,

I am planning to change my AT License Restriction – Converting to MT(限定解), and i was told passing on the first try is hard.

Would like to know if anyone has lifted the restriction and how was the process?

  1. I skipped the AT and went directly for the MT. It’s the same test, just with a stick…passed on the first try but that’s cause I’m very experienced with a MT…

  2. My wife did this 4-5 years ago. IIRC it was about 4 hours of lessons plus the test. We went through a driving school. I think it set me back about 70,000.

    If you’re really confident with stick, you can just go to the licensing centre and take the test directly for a lot less – but be warned that they like to fail people that don’t go to a driving school.
