I’ve been in the process for saving to apply to a Japanese Language School (I know it’s not the best option, but it is in my case) and I had planned to apply in April 2023 to ISI through GoGoNihon for a 6 month stay.
GoGoNihon recommends to have 1.2 million yen equivalent of liquidity in the bank, and I have saved 1.6 million yen. The deadline to apply for April is October 7, so the max amount I could possibly save to apply by then is 1.9 million yen.
The problem is that when I tried to start my application, GoGoNihon sent me an email with financial sponsor requirements I didn’t see anywhere else. They stated that to sponsor, you should have been employed full-time consistently for at least 2 years, with an annual salary of at least 2 million yen.
I’ve worked at my current job for 1 year and my previous job for under 6 months, I only went full time in March. Technically my annual earnings would be over 2.5 million yen, but I don’t know if last year’s tax documents would attest to that (I made about 11,000 USD that year).
Is this something I should worry about? Would it be better just to apply on my own?
