Hello, I’m training for Kyoto marathon and I want to do a long run. Is it possible to run from Kyoto to Osaka? Is there a direct walking/biking path ? It seems like a fun challenge
You do know about the running/cycling paths along the Yodo River, right? Because that’s the obvious route. No cars, but often windy.
The keinawa bicycle path goes from Arashiyama to Wakayama city (180km) and includes the Yodo river path. Most of it is protected from cars, and a lot of people run on it.
Sort of-but there are parts around Kuzuha where you have to get on the road and it isn’t great. I’ve done it before. You just keep following Kamogawa down and then pick up the bike path.
Also, would you recommend running on the North or south bank of the Yodo river?
Great run. Thanks for the input. Very easy route to follow. Lovely 3 hours
