Hi r/JapanTravel! My bf and I are celebrating his birthday in March by visiting Japan, one of our dream travel destinations, together. We’re big anime and gaming nerds and I love Japanese fashion as well. Since it’s his first time in Japan and I haven’t visited since I was very young, I wanted an itinerary check.
We’re staying in Shibuya and flying in/out of Narita. Suggestions on optimizing our destination order are appreciated. Besides day 2, we’re open to changing the days when we visit each place.

* Land around 3pm
* Pick up pocket wifi and purchase N’EX tickets to Shibuya station
* Check in to hotel
* To keep things simple, stay around Shibuya
**Day 2 (Mar 2nd, bf’s birthday)** \- Akihabara
* Hit up various anime stores
* Gachapon Hall
* Donki
* Whatever catches my bf’s eye for lunch, Monhun Sakaba for dinner (bf is a HUGE Monhun fan)
**Day 3** **(Mar 3rd)**\- Harajuku/Shibuya
* Takeshitadori
* Yoyoji Park
* Nintendo Tokyo
* Shibuya 109
* Pompompurin Cafe for lunch, Kumachan Onsen for dinner
**Day 4 (Mar 4th) -** Nihonbashi/Ginza
* Pokemon DX
* Character Street
* Sanrio World Ginza
* Itoya
* Pokemon Cafe for lunch? (hopefully but not likely…)
**Day 5** **(Mar 5th)** \- Shinjuku
* Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building observatory
* Godzilla head statue
* Samurai Museum
* Golden Gai
**Day 6 (Mar 6th)** \- Ikebukuro
* Sunshine City
* Seibu department store
* Animate Ikebukuro
* Ikebukuro Parco/P’Parco
* Ikebukuro Mikado Game Center
**Day 7 (Mar 7th)** \- Meguro/Jiyugaoka/Musashi-Koyama?
* 100 steps staircase
* various museums in Meguro (Accessory Museum, Meguro Museum of Art, Teien Art Museum)
* Popeye Camera
* Hachinoya
* Frogs
* Mipig Cafe for lunch, open to dinner suggestions (maybe going to Musashi-Koyama?)
**Day 8 (Mar 8th)** \- Akihabara (again) & Ueno
* Tokyo Metro Art Museum
* National Museum of Nature and Science
* Ueno Zoological Gardens
* Another walk through Electric Town
**Day 9 (Mar 9th)** \- Yokohama
* Cup noodles museum
* Yamashita Park
* NYK Hikawa Maru
* Gundam Base Yokohama
**Day 10 (Mar 10th)** \- Shibuya/Departure
* Hit up any remaining places in Shibuya
* Pack bags & check out
* N’EX to airport & go home
