I know if people have renewed their US license while in Japan they can bring their old expired license and documentation showing that they lived in the US at the time of their old license and it lets them bypass the first step of the drivers test here. Does anyone know if you can do that if you don’t renew your license, can you just bring your old expired license and documentation showing that you used to drive over a period of years, or does the license actually need to be currently active?
